Authorities Say Fire At Downtown Could Have Been Caused By ‘Improper Storage’ Of Materials

A representative from Dubai Civil Defense has said the fire in Dubai Downtown was could have been caused, or exacerbated by the improper storage of building materials. 

In an interview with the ARN News Centre, Lt. Col. Jumaa Mohammed Al Basata of the Dubai Civil Defence told the station that a large amount of wood, for doors, was stored in one place – for three towers. 

The fire broke out in the early hours of Sunday morning in The Address Fountain Views site, in Dubai’s Downtown area

Workers were rescued by Civil Defense from the site, after flames engulfed the building

A probe into the safety of the site is expected to be launched in regards to the fire
