A Mother And Son Were Nabbed With Bag Of Heroin At Dubai Airport
A mother and son are facing jail after being found with more than 1kg of heroin at Dubai Airport.
The 50-year-old Pakistani woman and her 23-year-old son were found with 1.2kg worth of the class A drug, according to the Khaleej Times.
Both pleaded not guilty when they appeared in court, the son claimed a man who organised their travel papers may have supplied the drug, however according to reports the woman previously admitted an Afghani supplied her with the drugs before she left for Dubai.
The woman was allegedly paid AED800
Despite pleading not guilty, the woman allegedly originally admitted she was paid for the trip. The woman raised suspicion on arrival and officers approached her when she reached the inspection point.
The woman stated the bag contained just clothes belonging to herself and her son, however on inspection, drugs were found in the lining of the bag.
The woman reportedly calimed at the time that she was paid AED800 to carry the drugs and deliver them to a man in Dubai.
The court will reach its verdict on July 25.
