Dubai Approves The Reopening Of Shisha Lounges And Smoking Areas Within Establishments From July 18
YAAAASSSS!! Where ’em shisha addicts at?!
You’ll be happy to know that Dubai Municipality has issued an official circular that approves the reopening of shisha services and smoking areas within licensed establishments from Saturday, July 18.
The update came into circulation on Friday, July 17 and reads:
“Reopening Smoking Areas & Shisha Serving Areas (Starting from 18 July 2020 until further notice): Dubai Municipality calls on Smoking areas and Shisha serving areas operators in the Emirates of Dubai to comply with the following:”
While the restriction on shisha services has been lifted, several other rules still remain in place
All social distancing guidelines are to be strictly followed. Establishments should ensure the regular disinfection of touched surfaces and common areas at least once every hour and shared objects each time they are used (handrails, slides, tubes, lockers, counters, toilets etc).
The circular further reinforces that if any symptoms of COVID-19 is detected amongst visitors or staff, such as fever (≥37.5 ̊C), cough, myalgia or fatigue, shortness of breath, sore throat, runny nose, diarrhoea, nausea, headache, or loss of sense of smell or taste, the DHA hotline number 800342 should be immediately contacted by the facility’s designated Health officer.
Moreover, all staff and guests must go through temperature screening before entering the establishment without fail.
For the time being, only disposable shisha hoses and narghiles will be permitted for use
Reusable shisha parts including the tongs are to be cleaned and disinfected after each client.
#DubaiMunicipality issued the precautionary measures to reopen smoking areas and shisha serving areas starting from 18th of July until further notice, per the highest international preventive measures and regular inspections will be conducted to ensure the compliance. pic.twitter.com/ngPRfGrpYW
