A Heroic Dubai Firefighter Died Trying To Tame Saturday’s Business Bay Blaze

A Dubai firefighter lost his life trying to tame a fire at a building under-construction in Business Bay on Saturday.

Dubai Civil Defence reported the death, stating he died trying to control the fire while HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum along with many residents have expressed their condolences to the family following the tragedy.

“Corporal Tariq Abdullah Ali Al Hawai from Etihad (Union) Firefighting Centre has died while trying to control the fire that broke out… at an under-construction building located on Al Abraj street

“I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to the family of Shahid al-Hajj, Tariq Abdullah Ali al-Hawai, who was martyred during his work with his civil defense teams to extinguish a fire accident in a building in the commercial Bay Area.”

Authorities were alerted of the fire at 10.40am on Saturday and rushed to the scene.

Lower-levels of the building were damaged however there were no civilian injuries reported in the blaze.
