Dubai Wants More Electric Cars On The Roads And They’ve Introduced Four BIG Incentives To Urge Drivers To Switch
Dubai has just introduced four incentives for drivers of electric cars, and there has never been more of a reason to go green.
Dubai aims to be the city with the lowest carbon footprint in the world by 2050, and to get 42,000 electric vehicles on the road by then, and this is great one step towards reaching that goal.
There four incentives will apply to anyone who drives a zero-carbon emission electric vehicle.
The incentives:
Electrics car owners will be able to charge their vehicles for free until 2019
Have access to free vehicle registration/renewal fees
Have a free Salik tag and licence plate sticker
Free parking in designated green parking areas
The initiative will cost the government millions of dirhams
The initiative was outlined by government entities Dubai Electricity and Water (DEWA) and in collaboration with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in the Armani Hotel on Sunday and the progressive plan is part of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050.
