Dubai’s First Happiness Festival Was Cancelled Due To Freak Weather Conditions Today

Avatar

Today was the first ever Dubai Happiness Festival but unfortunately the event got cut short due to the freak weather that wreaked havoc across the region this afternoon. Motivational speakers and exercise workouts were all part of the fun but with sand and dust everywhere it was difficult for organisers to stay happy.

The event being held at The Dubai Polo and Equestrian Club is just what Dubai has been crying out for since the Emirate’s commitment to becoming one of the happiest places in the world to live.

But today’s weather (a mixture of gale force winds, rain showers and a sand storm) had other ideas.

The day started in high spirits but high winds ruined the afternoon

Organisers started the day in good spirits and remained positive as the event started at 11 and people started to arrive but only the very hardy remained as tents had to be taken down, tree branches snapped in half and yoga mats flew from one side of the site to the other. The festival was officially postponed around midday and brands started to leave shortly after, however one company kept smiling and laughing.

The day was officially cancelled at 12 but hardy athletes stayed around to take part in the planned group classes and personal training sessions

Hardy guests stayed around to take part in a calisthenics class with UK calisthenics champion, Stephen Hughes-Landers and for the one-on-one sessions provided by Fit Squad DXB, Dubai’s newest personal training service.
