3 Dubai Folk Who SMASHED It At The London Marathon This Week
Yesterday more than 40,000 runners hit the streets of London to take part in the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon.
Part of the World Marathon Majors, the London Marathon is one of six of the world’s top marathons, which counts Tokyo, Boston, Berlin, Chicago and New York City among the list.
And along with the world’s top endurance runners and an athlete who completed the entire distance dressed as Big Ben, there were some recognisable Dubai finishers among the crowds…
Here are three runners who smashed it at London Marathon
1. Manal Rostom
The Egyptian lady who calls Dubai home already has 13 marathons, including five majors under her belt, but on Sunday, she nutted her fastest major to date and crossed the finish line in 4 hours 32 minutes! Amazing!
2. Big Rossi
What a day for the Virgin Radio presenter, who started his fitness journey in January and completed this London major in 4 hours 43 minutes… that’s less than four months after later!
Rossi has been documenting the highs and lows of his fitness journey over the last few months, hitting the gym and inviting residents to join group running sessions with him at the Dubai Autodrone, bets were on over where or not he would come through in under six hours…
And he smashed it!
3. Lee Ryan
It certainly wasn’t Dubai adidas runner Lee Ryan’s first marathon… this was his tenth time taking part in the London major. The five time Guinness World Record holder (he holds the record for the “fastest marathon runner pushing a double stroller”), completed the London marathon in a seriously impressive 3hours 2minutes and 54seconds.
