The ‘Mothers I’d Like To Hire’ Talk At Dubai Lynx Has REALLY Annoyed Some People
What started as a positive conversation by a panel at Dubai Lynx conference has upset a few people.
The creative communications conference hosted a panel titled ‘Mothers I’d Like To Hire’; designed to address the ‘noticeable lack of mothers in advertising’, and show why the industry needs working mums.
However it ended up leaving some feeling a bit miffed as the panel discussion made some feel like it was more about mothers versus non-mothers, rather than the benefits of employing those with children.
One speaker was quoted saying: “You can’t expect a mum to work in the same way as a male”
Tweets questioned the sentiments behind the talk, kicking off a twitter discussion about the choice in words
