An investigation into the incident from Dubai Police CID’s Department of Electronic Investigation revealed that the Asian man was hoping to gain popularity on social media.
Following the stunt, residents have been reminded by police to use social media responsibly, and to ‘avoid actions that may go against local values, cultures, and traditions.’
