Almost everyone racked up the odd speeding fine in Dubai. You may not be paying attention and you might be doing 104km per hour in a 100km zone and be snapped by the camera. Or, as happened to me this morning, there might be a hidden camera on the back of a parked truck. And speeding fines aren't cheap. Depending on the extent of the violation, you could receive fines of anywhere between 200 AED up to AED 1,000 and fines in the thousands for extreme violations.

One european lady driving a Porsche Cayenne committed 19 violations in 1 hour on Sheikh Zayed Road

According to the Khaleej Times, this is the first time someone has received such a large amount of fines in a short space of time. Her reason was that she was going to the hospital for treatment as she was suffering from stress and asked that she would be let off the fines.

"We refused because her reason is unacceptable."

This comes at a time when road safety is being scrutinized more closer than ever due to a increase in incidents of late
