Avatar

Dubai radio station Dubai92 had a chat with an engineer from the Dubai Police Traffic Department who mentioned that a new radar will soon hit Dubai’s streets, ready to catch anyone without a seatbelt or using their phones while driving.

Sergeant Mohammed Khatab, the engineer at the Traffic Department mentioned that a prototype is ready and trials will soon take place on roads.

“Maybe after 3-4 months, it’s for red light monitoring (radar). It will come with new functions and added features, including being able to catch who’s using mobile phones while driving and who doesn’t have a seatbelt on.”
