An Emirates plane that was departing for Dubai has collided with another aircraft in Singapore’s Changi Airport on Thursday morning.

The collision happened on the ground while the other aircraft – a Scoot plane was enroute to the runway.

The incident caused damage to both planes, but thankfully no one on board was injured.

Changi Airport Group released a statement

“We have confirmed that an on-ground incident happened early this morning between Emirates EK405 that was bound for Dubai and Scoot TZ188 which was bound for Tianjin.

“A wing of each aircraft came into contact as they were respectively preparing for departure. There were no injuries.

“Passengers on TZ188 were moved to a different aircraft, while passengers aboard EK405 were re-booked on other Emirates flights scheduled to depart later today.”

An Emirates spokesperson said:

“Engineering inspections determined that some repairs will be required and as a result all our affected passengers have now been rebooked on alternative flights.”
