An Emirati Burglar’s Jail Time Is Cut From 2 Years To Just 6 Months
Having jail term cut is not the strange thing here but no reason being given is pretty unusual.
Anyway, a 24-year-old Emirati man won an appeal to have his jail term cut. It’s gone down from two years to six months. He was convicted of trespassing and physical assault.
In December last year, an Irish pilot living in Al Safa heard noises from his kitchen at 3.30am. When he went to check, he saw a masked man holding his wife’s purse and trying to get out of the kitchen door. He chased the Emirati out into the street where his accomplice was waiting in an SUV. He drove off but the Irish and Emirati started fighting. The Emirati slashed the pilot with a razor blade 15 times before running off, reported The National. The victim’s daughter called the police and an ambulance took the man to the hospital. He was left with multiple scars on his face.
