An Emirati Man Has Been Sentenced To Life Imprisonment For Intent To Commit Terrorist Acts And Attempted Murder
A 30-year-old Emirati national has been sentenced to life imprisonment for attempted murder, and intent to commit terror offenses bu The Abu Dhabi Federal Appeal Court.
The man will also be required to cover all court costs associated with the case.
The man, identified as AMJ allegedly attempted to join the Al Nusra Front in Syria, and travelled to Turkey to help get in.
He was also convicted of planning to commit terror crimes by blowing up sensitive areas and using explosives and live ammunition to do so
He also set up social media accounts on Twitter and Facebook with the intent of promoting the ideas of IS, Al Qaida and encouraging youths to join, the courts found.
