14 Days Until Liftoff: The First Emirati Astronaut Is In Isolation Ahead Of His Historic Journey
The historic journey is almost upon us.
Two Emirati astronauts who have undergone rigorous training are currently under quarantine, a period of isolation which will last 14 more days, before lift-off which is scheduled for September 25!
Hazzaa Al Mansoori was chosen to take fulfil the mission and he is joined by his back up Sultan Al Neyadi.
The astronauts are ready and waiting at the launch city of Bakinour, Kazakhstan

The team were greeted with flag-waving and cheers from local residents

The crew will now spend two weeks in isolation

The shuttle departs from the International Space Station (ISS) pn September 25 and Dubai royals have wished them well on this tremendous journey
