This year’s TEDWomen is taking place in New Orleans, USA.

And for the first time ever an Emirati speaker will grace the Global TED stage.

30-year-old Sarah Al Amiri, who was recently named Minister of State for Advanced Sciences in a UAE cabinet reshuffle and will now lead the UAE’s Mars Mission, is representing the UAE on the idea sharing platform.

Sarah’s role will be to give the world an insight into the UAE’s journey to Mars

There’ll be a live streaming of TED Women happening at Nadi Al Quoz in Alserkal Avenue on November 2 from 5.30pm – 7pm.

You can register here, there is very limited seating, so you’ll need to act fast.

“In 2009 when we launched the first event we wanted people around the world to hear about Dubai not because of the financial headlines, but for the culture and ideas that were growing here. We wanted to export ideas from Dubai to the rest of the world, and put an Emirati on the main TED stage, and now we’ve done that.  When Sarah takes to the stage, she will represent so much to so many.”

Natascia Radice, TEDxDubai curator

There’s another event happening on November 4

Registration for TEDxAlWaslWomen is open now. The event will bring together speakers to challenge your thoughts and inspire talks centering on ‘bridges’ this year’s theme. “We build them, we cross them, and sometimes we have to burn them.’

Register here before October 22
