An Etisalat Sales Exec Has Been Jailed For Stealing Nearly AED700,000 Worth Of Goods

A sales executive for Etisalat has been sentenced to six months in jail after stealing almost 200 sim cards and 35 phones from the company, to the value of AED 700,000.  

The 36-year-old Egyptian man was sentenced by the Dubai Criminal Court earlier this week on charges of using forged documents, defrauding his employer and abusing his position. 

The master plan 

The case had overwhelming with evidence as there are records showing altered documents on how he obtained the 35 phones over the years – the man forged applications from January 2015 to September 2016. 

The man abused the log in credentials given to him by the company to log into the system, where he entered numerous fake names of people and companies requesting goods and services. 

The ruling 

The Egyptian man must be deported after serving his six months’ sentencing. 

He was also given fines AED150,000 and will be required to repay the value of the stolen products.
