Experts Warn Snapchat Users To Be Careful As There’s A Feature That Can Easily Hack Into Your Account

The beloved platform by today’s youth, Snapchat, has a bit of issues regarding privacy and hacking. Cyber security experts are warning users and parents alike, to be aware and careful, according to The National.

Experts say a user can be easily hacked on the app, especially if they’ve got a simple password that remains the same regularly 

Experts warn parents to monitor their children and be aware of the app’s features and how it works, since a lot of the users are between ages 12-24. 

“There are a couple of features that enable hackers to easily hack a Snapchat account. For instance, a Snapchat user that does not change their passwords regularly, using a username that can be easily Googled, [put themselves at risk].

The new SnapMaps feature can also share information on users’ whereabouts causing concern for parents and adult users alike 

Matthew added “One of the biggest risks that has emerged recently is Snapchat Maps. Users who are not familiar with the Snapchat privacy rules may not know how to turn on or off the map, which will reveal the user’s precise location any time they open Snapchat.”
