Families Of Victims Who Passed Away In The Minibus Crash Have To Seek Compensation Themselve

During the wee hours on Monday last week, 4.54 am to be exact, a minibus had crashed into a lorry carrying heavy goods, resulting in a fatal accident.

Families of the seven men that passed away (excluding the bus driver) in the horrific minibus crash will now have to pursue the compensation completely on their own.

The other seven passengers were severely injured during the accident and were admitted to the Rashid Hospital for treatment.

Because the driver of the minibus had also passed away during the traffic accident, a criminal case will not be pursued

Relatives of the deceased will have to file civil cases in order to get the compensation themselves, as the death of the bus driver who was believed to be responsible has made it unlikely for there to be a criminal case charged.

In the case that the driver was in the position to be prosecuted for the accident, a criminal case would be charged right away where the judge would order the payouts to the families of the victims.

The minibus rammed into a lorry on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road, before the Mirdif City Centre exit en route Sharjah

The families of all the men involved in the accident are entitled to blood money set to a figure of AED200,000

They can further request compensation for emotional damages.
