This Inspiring Muslim Student Is Breaking Barriers By Being The First Hijabi Miss England Finalist
Sara Iftekhar is only 20 years old – and she’s already making waves in the beauty pageant world.
Sara Iftekhar is all set to be the FIRST woman to wear the hijab in the finals for Miss England competition.
The Muslim student won the titles of Miss Huddersfield and Miss Yorkshire Popularity 2018, which earned her place in the Miss England finals.
The beauty queen is also a law student at the University of Huddersfield
Fun fact: Sara started her own clothing business at the age of 16 years
The ambitious student has also set up a Go Fund Me page to raise money for the charity Beauty with a Purpose, which works with various causes across the world
While other hijab-wearing women have entered the competition, Sara is the first person to secure a place in the finals
Should Sara win the Miss England title, she will go on to represent the nation at the Miss World stage in Sanya, China. The winner of the Miss World crown will receive AED367,000 (US$100,000).
