RTA Is Offering Free Car Parking But There’s A Catch

The Road and Transportation Authority is providing 70 free parking spaces across 40 paid parking zones for environment-friendly vehicles.

This step was mainly taken to support Dubai’s Green Mobility initiative and aims at ending carbon emissions. This move will also encourage people to opt for eco-friendly means of transportation.

Locations include Burj Khalifa, Central Business Districts, Trade Centre area, Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Street and Sheikh Zayed Road.

CEO of RTA’s Traffic and Road Agency, Matitha bin Adai, said: “The parking spaces are marked by green-painted frame with signs showing the maximum allowable use time, and the fines applicable on parking violations. Only eco-friendly vehicles are allowed to access these parking slots, and for a time limit of four hours, which will increase the rotation of using each parking.”
