GEMS Just Released A Warning Letter And Every Parent Should See It

GEMS Wellington Academy Silicon Oasis released a letter to parents about a video game and it’s something every parent needs to see.

It’s regarding popular video game games ‘Fortnite,’ which is available on popular games consoles.

The game is rated PG12, with mild violence according to the UK Video Standards Council, however a UK children’s charity flagged potentially threatening online activity for users of the game.

The warning suggests that a shocking 25% of users have been contacted online by strangers.

Parents are encouraged to turn off the voice-chat service via the game settings, and includes this link to learn how to disable the service.

You cannot disable the messaging service

As the text message service is unable to be disabled, parents are urged to be observe caution with online games, and use privacy settings where possible.
