Pictures: The UAE Has Gone Green For St. Patrick’s Day
As part of Tourism Ireland’s Global Greening initiative, buildings across the UAE have gone green for the day. More than 70 million people around the world claim links to the island of Ireland, there are around 10,000 Irish people living in the UAE. We don’t quite have a St. Patricks Day parade in the UAE like they do in towns and cities across Ireland, and that is mirrored in the US with massive parades in cities like Boston and Chicago. However, we do have lot’s of buildings that have gone green.
One big green celebration
“People across the world instantly identify Ireland’s National Day with the island of Ireland and that heightened profile allows us to put the Ireland holiday experience in the spotlight – from Auckland to London and from Rome to Rio de Janeiro.”
