All Government Service Centres Will Close For One Full Working Day For A Clever Reason

Avatar

For people to embrace the multitude of online Government services, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has approved a ‘A Day without Services Centres’.

The aim of the day is to encourage residents to adjust to the online services already available, without the need for visiting a service centre.

On October 26, all walk-in government offices will close. The initiative is a directive from HH Sheikh Mohammed and was launched by the Department of Finance (DoF) and it will help achieve the aim to become one of the world’s smartest cities.

Customer service centres will still play a role on the day

Their job will be to educate the public regarding the smart channels available to communicate with the government.

The purpose of every government app is to make life easier for residents. The apps are personalised and provide vital information and services, in a convenient, hassle-free manner.

Operations at government service centres will resume the following day.
