Health Authorities Have Suspended Specific Antibiotics In The UAE

A specific antibiotics brand was suspended from the shelves in UAE by Abu Dhabi health authorities due to an active ingredient in the medicine, Gulf news reported on Wednesday. 

The antibacterial Megamox Powder, which includes the active ingredient called Amoxicillin has not yet been approved and caused the suspension of the antibiotics. 

Further tests needed

Various concentrations of Amoxicillin are still being tested to find the right balance that is safe for consumer consumption. 

And all pharmacies in the UAE have been informed to return the products to the supplier until further notice and approval by the health authorities.
