Happy 10th birthday to the Dubai Metro!
The entire Emirate celebrates 10 years since the launch of one of the most progressive forms of public transportation, really setting the tone of Dubai for the rest of the region. The Dubai Metro was launched in September 09, 2009 and has since transported more than 2 million journeys and 1.5 billion passengers.

Dubai’s ruler revealed what inspired him to dream of the Dubai Metro:
Dubai Metro was once a dream. I was 10 years old when I visited London in 1959 with my father who insisted to see a train’s cockpit. 50 years later, Dubai Metro came true in 2009. Nothing is impossible if you can dream it.”
