Two Men Tried to Smuggle AED300,000 Cash Into Dubai
Two men have been arrested en route to Dubai, after Indian officials discovered nearly Dhs300,000 worth of undeclared cash hidden inside bananas on Thursday.
The duo were set to board their flight from Kerala’s Kozhikode Airport when officials discovered the fruit concealed in their checked baggage.
The cash, in Saudi Riyals was rolled up and stuffed into banana skins before being packed into the case.

They were caught out by officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) who made the discovery based on a tip-off
Dubai Customs Laws require all sums of cash exceeding AED100,000 to be declared.
