HSBC UAE Has Been Overcharging Exorbitant Amounts Of Money From Customers’ Accounts And People Are Livid
People of the UAE were in for a rude shock when they realized that HSBC UAE has overcharged money up to three to four times of the normal transaction from their savings account.
A major technical issue from HSBC’s servers resulted in the overcharging of the money on all transactions that happened on December 2 and people took to social media to express their anger on this whole situation.
People immediately started noticing the discrepancies
The lack of communication and the bank’s abysmal customer service further infuriated people
Am hearing there are major system issues @HSBC_UAE. Random amounts been taken off peoples accounts. Has anyone else been affected? @HSBC_UAE would be nice to get some correspondence from you.

Some people also experienced all withdrawals being charged in dollars instead of dirhams
Dreadful service from @HSBC_UAE who are charging all withdrawals in dollars and haven’t even let people know. Any transaction in dirhams will show in US$$$

The bank FINALLY released an official statement
We HOPE that all the money that have been incorrectly charged on people’s accounts are reversed immediately.
