Kikkoman Soy Sauce Has Been Banned From Shelves In The UAE

US-manufactured Kikkoman soy sauce is being withdrawn from shelves in the UAE due to containing alcoholic residue, according to UAE authorities.

The Japanese version was removed from shelves in August due to alcoholic content, and now the Ministry for Climate Change and Environment has confirmed the United States-manufactured counterpart also is being removed from sales.

Accredited laboratories tested the substances for traces and found it to contain alcoholic substance which is prohibited for sales in supermarkets in the UAE.

The ministry is working with the relevant bodies to ensure a quick removal of the product.
