The owner of a Rent a Car dealership has asked the UK embassy to help cover the fines racked up by a reckless motorist.

After Mr Hashi, a British tourist amassed over AED170,000 in fines when he rented a Lamborghini and gunned it along SZR and other roads in the early hours of July 30.

The car has yet to be returned and according to a National report, Mohammed Ibrahim, the owner of the car dealership has spoken directly with the British Embassy, hoping they will intervene and help cover the fines.

The tourist is not returning calls and the car has not been returned

Mr Hashi is not returning phone calls from the dealership which believes that as a tourist he should be supported by the British embassy, according to the report.

The AED1.3 million Lamborghini Huracan is still sitting out front at the Five Palm Jumeirah, the address listed by the British tourist for his stay here.

The car rental costs AED3,000 per day, a cost which is also stacking up as the stand-off rages on, however the owner said he will WAIVE a large percentage of these costs, if Hashi will help with the speeding costs.

A UK embassy representative stated they are offering support to the British citizen.
