An Australian Man Was Caught Carrying 5kg Of Drugs On A Flight From Dubai To Melbourne

An Australian man has been arrested in Melbourne, after being caught with 5kg of cocaine. 

The 34-year-old was on a flight from Dubai to Melbourne and was caught when the Australian Federal Police inspected the man’s baggage. 

It was found the luggage had a false bottom, and concealed three packages of cocaine amounting to 5kg

In a joint media release issued by the Australian Federal Police (AFP) and Australian Border Force (ABF), the man is expected to appear before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Wednesday, April 19.

The maximum penalty for the offence is life imprisonment.
