Salesman Denies Rape And Theft Charges In Dubai Court
A case from 2014 concerning the alleged attack and rape of an Egyptian woman has appeared before the Dubai Court of First Instance.
The defendant has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The 28 year old man has claimed the woman is framing him
He is accused of breaking into the woman’s home and raping her at knife point.
The incident, which occurred in December 2014, took place after the man had visited the woman’s apartment one evening enquiring about her friend but she told him to leave.
The 43 year old victim alleges that he returned later that night, forced his way into the apartment, threatened her with a weapon and raped her.
He is also accused of stealing money from the woman.
The report was filed in 2015 but has only appeared before the courts today.
The accused was present without a lawyer and the case has been adjourned until October 29.
