Yesterday was a huge day in UFC history.

Irishman Conor McGregor submitted to Russian Khabib Nurmagomedov after four intense rounds in Las Vegas, Nevada but it's the pre and post match behaviour from both sides that's causing the most controversy.

Khabib is the first Muslim to win a UFC title and he has received huge support online following the win

The fight sparked debate for McGregor's behaviour pre-fight and Khabib's after his win

Pre-fight the Irishman goaded Khabib, he questioned him about why he doesn't drink and called his manager a terrorist.

Post match Khabib jumped the ring and rushed at McGregor's team. Khabib has apologised for his behaviour, he says he wants to change the game, but 'you cannot talk about a person's religion or nation'.

"I want to change the game.... you cannot talk about religion.. I am sorry'

Twitter is divided

'When ALLAH is with you, nobody can beat you'

And sharing images of his trip to Mecca

The main point people are making

While others say McGregor didn't deserve what happened

The internet reaction ranges fro, insults to poking fun

Now people are calling him 'the eagle'
