Kenyan opposition figure Dr Miguna Miguna was placed on a flight to Dubai following deportation from Kenya over his citizenship status.
Despite multiple court rulings in his favour, Mr Miguna was detained in Kenya since Monday before leaving on an Emirates flight to Dubai on Wednesday night, according to a BBC report. Tweets from Miguna’s personal Twitter account suggest he was forcibly removed from the country and will be transferred to London.
Dr Miguna had previously been deported to Canada for his role in endorsing opposition leader Raila Odinga as “the people’s president”. Subsequently he was detained in Kenya for attempting to reenter the country.
