Motorist Racks Up An Astounding AED 1 Million In Traffic Fines

A careless driver in Ras Al Khaimah managed to collect AED 1 million in fines.

The driver broke a number of road laws, including speeding, which all contributed to the hefty fine.

AED 1 million is the largest fine RAK police have issued in the last few years

The driver was caught committing the numerous violations by radar on the roads.

A second motorist also managed to accumulate a hefty amount of fines, totalling AED 250,000, the second largest fine handed down to a driver in RAK.

Luckily for the drivers they were able to reduce their fines substantially

Thanks to RAK police the drivers were able to reduce their fines by  50% as part of ‘Happiness Day’ in March which saw motorists benefit from a reduction in traffic fines.

The driver still had to pay over AED 500,000 which we imagine hurt his bank balance quite a bit.

Both men have paid their fines in full.
