What happens when Michael Jackson meets Bollywood?
Munna Michael happens, and it’s everything you could imagine from this strange pairing.
It grossed over $970,000 on it’s opening day in India
Described as a ‘dance-action movie’ it follows Munna, a young man from the streets who aspires to follow in the footsteps of his idol Michael Jackson.
He gets the opportunity to tutor a ganster who want to learn to dance, but things don’t go as smoothly as planned when we’re introduced to the female lead, Nidhhi Agerwal in her debut role.
It opened in 3000 screens across India on Friday and 400 screens internationally, including the UAE.
It’s actor Tiger Shroff’s fourth movie and third collaboration with director Sabbir Khan
Most initial reviews are negative with critics citing it as predictable and usual.
Times of India critic, Meena Lyer, rated the film 2.5/5 saying, “You can almost record screen proceedings with your stopwatch because after every 15 minutes, there is a–song, fight, song, fight and some more blah.”
