Naked body of a woman found at Dubai bus stop

Police are investigating after finding the body of a woman behind a bus stop near Dubai Courts in the early hours of Thursday morning. The woman, who was in an undressed state, is thought to be Georgian and police are dealing with the case as suspected murder.

A prosecution source told Gulf News: “I can confirm that 99 per cent of the death is related to a foul play. The woman was found undressed and dead, behind one of the bus stops here facing the buildings of Dubai Court and Public Prosecution. It has been established from the primary and onsite investigations, that the woman was raped and then killed.”

“As part of the ordinary procedures in such cases, prosecutors have instructed law enforcement officers to check all the footages of CCTV and surveillance cameras in the area where the woman’s body was found. More than one suspect is believed to be involved in this case.”

A law enforcement officer told Gulf News: “Initially there were rumours that one woman was found dead and another woman was left in front of a hospital nearby after she was brutally beaten, raped and left naked. It was believed to be that that the two incidents were connected but it was later clarified that the deceased is the same woman, who was found naked and dead. The victim’s friend, who was drunk, is the one who reported the matter to the police … she is also the one who alleged that her friend was raped.”
