Netflix Has Blocked An Episode Of Patriot Act In Saudi For Anti-Government Sentiment

Netflix has removed an episode of Hasan Minhaj’s Patriot Act in Saudi, for violating the Kingdom’s cyber crime laws, it has been reported.

The episode, which is still available on Netflix UAE, is titled ‘Saudi Arabia’ and discusses the Jamal Khashoggi murder scandal and rulers of KSA.

Netflix has confirmed it removed the episode from Netflix in Saudi, following a request by Saudi’s Communications and Information Technology Commission.

Netflix issued a statement on the matter to Financial Times, stating: “We strongly support artistic freedom worldwide and only removed this episode in Saudi Arabia after we had received a valid legal request — and to comply with local law.”
