These New Driving License Rules For All Drivers In Dubai Will Be Introduced On July 1

The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have introduced changes to the rules for the validity of length of driving licenses.

From July 1 onwards, licenses for new drivers have a validity period of two years for citizens, GCC nationals and other nationalities above 21 years.

The validity for renewal driver licenses are 10 years for citizens and GCC nationals aged above 21 years, however it’s five years for other nationalities.

Citizens, GCC nationalities or other nationalities under 21 years can hold licenses valid for a one year period.

. أعلنت #هيئة_الطرق_و_المواصلات عن بدء تطبيق اللائحة التنفيذية الجديدة لقانون السير والمرور الاتحادي لإجراءات إصدار وتجديد رُخص القيادة رقم “177 ” لعام 2017 ، ووفقا للمادة “84 ” من القرار الوزاري، وذلك في الأول من يوليو المقبل، في إطار التزامها بتطبيق القرار، اتساقا مع المصلحة العامة في هذا المجال، وتضمن القرار عدة اشتراطات بشأن إصدار وتجديد رُخص القيادة، حيث نص على أن تكون فترة صلاحية إصدار رخصة القيادة للمرة الأولى أو استبدالها لمدة عامين لمن هم في عمر 21 سنة وما فوق للمتقدمين من مواطني الدولة ومواطني دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، وكذلك الجنسيات الأخرى، بينما تكون فترة الصلاحية الممنوحة لتجديد الرُخص 10 سنوات لمن هم في عُمر 21 سنة فما فوق لمواطني الدولة ودول مجلس التعاون الخليجي، فيما تصبح 5 سنوات لنفس الفئة العُمرية للجنسيات الأخرى، اما بالنسبة لمن تبلغ أعمارهم أقل من 21 عاما من مواطني الدولة ودول مجلس التعاون الخليجي والجنسيات الأخرى، فإن الفترة الممنوحة لصلاحية رُخص القيادة للمرة الأولى أو استبدالها أو تجديدها تكون لمدة عام واحد كما هو مُطبق حالياً. #RTA will start on July 1st, 2017 the implementation of the new Executive Regulation of the Federal Driving & Traffic Law as revised by the Ministerial Resolution No. (177) for 2017 (Article 84 governing the issuance & renewal of driver licenses). RTA’s commitment to implement the Resolution is in line with its efforts to serve the public interest in this field. The Resolution sets several stipulations for issuing & renewing driver licenses. It sets the initial validity of Driver Licenses issued or replaced, as 2 years for citizens, GCC nationals and other nationalities aged 21 years and above. It sets the validity of renewal of driver licenses as 10 years for citizens & GCC nationals aged 21 years and above, and five years in respect of other nationalities of the same age group. While for those aged less than 21 years, be it citizens, GCC nationals or other nationalities, the initial validity of the driver license issued, replaced or renewed shall be one year as currently applied. #RTANews
