If the carpark in your building is consistently full due to abandoned cars, covered in dust, taking up precious car parking spaces, this news will make your day.

Dubai has announced plans to confiscate obstructive vehicles which hinder the cleaning process.

This is part of a plan by the Waste Management Department the Municipality and is in partnership with Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, Dubai Investment Group, TECOM, Dubai Properties Group and Meydan group, according to local reports.

The process is pretty straightforward

Cars will be identified and if they meet removal conditions, a violation notice will be issued, allowing the owners fifteen days to move or clean the vehicle.

Failure to meet requirements will result in the vehicle being confiscated. This will result in a fine, if the owner fails to pay the fine, the vehicle will eventually be sold by the Municipality.

Makes sense.
