Drivers Take Note: New Fees For Licensing Services And Vehicle Registration Have Come Into Effect

There is a new fee structure in place for vehicle and licence registration.

A federal decree was announced by HH Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.

Listed below are some of the new fees, part of the new unified pricing structure regarding regulation of traffic, traffic and traffic safety services.

Driving licence service fees

Opening a traffic file AED200

Theory test for receiving a driving license AED 200

(ractical test for receiving a driving license AED200

Medical test for receiving a driving license AED100

Setting an appointment for a theory or practical test for a driving license AED300

Transferring a driving trainee file from one emirate to another AED200

Modifying data for a permit for a driving occupation AED100

Testing a driving trainee by a special committee AED300

Transferring a trainee’s driving test AED100

Licensing a vehicle

Licensing a light vehicle AED400 (first time) AED350 (renewal)

Licensing a vehicle that weights between 3 and 12 tonnes  AED400 (first time) AED400(renewal)

Licensing a vehicle that weights more than 12 tonnes AED900 (first time) AED800(renewal)

The RTA issued a statement

“In accordance with the decision of the Council of Ministers No. (30) for the year 2017 regarding the regulation of traffic, traffic and traffic safety services, the fees of drivers and vehicles services have been unified.
