The Up-To-Date UAE Population Figures Are Out And Females Make Up Just 31%
The UAE’s population in 2016 tallies up to just over 9.1 million people according to The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority .
The gender breakdown shows over 6.2 million males in comparison to over 2.8 million females, which equates to 69% to 31%.
The UAE is one of the first countries in the region to use administrative data methodology to produce the population count; an accurate and fast process which allows for significant savings in the cost of the field count and survey operations according to Wam.ae.
Thanks to the use of this methodology, this is the most up-to-date UAE population figures for 2016 according to Abdulla Nasser Lootah, the authority’s Director-General.
