The World’s First Ever State-Of-The Art 3D Printed Skyscraper Will Soon Be Built In Dubai

We’re no strangers to 3D printing here in Dubai. Just last year the city unveiled the ‘offices of the future’, the first ever 3D printed offices in the world, while at the same time Dubai Media Office revealed Dubai’s 3D printing strategy; that by 2030 a whopping 25% of new buildings in Dubai will be 3D printed….And now it looks like the skyline of Dubai may be in for a rapid transformation.

Dubai is building the world’s first ever 3D printed skyscraper

According to local reports, Cazza, a technologies company that ‘designs 3D printed dream projects’ is behind the build.

The Dubai-based construction company will use a technique called ‘crane printing;’ using cranes purposefully built to build 3D structures 80m and above. Materials including concrete and steel can be used in this process.

And while the completion date or height of the structure is not yet known, the 19 year old founder of Cazza has huge ambitions for the company…

Adapting 3D printing for taller structures…

“When we first thought of implementing 3D printing technologies, we were mostly thinking of houses and low-rise buildings.

“Developers kept asking us if it was possible to build a 3D printed skyscraper. This led us to begin researching how we could adapt the technologies for taller structures. Through our technologies, we will be able to build architecturally complex buildings at never-before seen speeds. It is all about economies of scale where the initial high technology costs will reduce as we enter the mass-production phase.”

“We are here to change the world”

“We believe in and admire HH Sheikh’s Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s 10X vision and shall do everything we can to bring further world-changing innovation. We came here to change the world, and that’s exactly what we’re doing.”
