There Are Protests In The UK Over The Dubai Detention Of An Emirati Man

There are protests happening in the UK in relation to the arrest of Emirati activist Ahmed Mansour. 

On Monday, several protestors took to the embassy of the UAE in London and by Amnesty Manchester in relation to the detention of the 47-year-old, human rights activist in Dubai. 

The UAE national is a member of the Human Rights Watch advisory board, and was detained on March 20 for defaming the UAE and inciting hatred on social media – which under UAE law is illegal. 

The The Public Prosecution for Cybercrimes (PPC) ordered the arrest for “publishing false and misleading information that harm national unity and social harmony and damage the country’s reputation”.
