Here’s How Many Official Public Holidays The Private Sector Will Have In 2019
On Monday, the news broke that holidays for the public & private sector would be equal for 2019 and 2020.
UAE Government broke the news via Twitter reporting, “The UAE Cabinet approves public holidays for the public sector for the years 2019-2020, and grants the private sector equal holidays”… this is brilliant news in particular for private sector workers who traditionally had less holidays than the public sector.

The new rules encourages Emiratis to join the private sector
The decision, approved by the UAE Cabinet provides an incentive for Emiratis to join the private work force, makes the sector more attractive and also means citizens and residents can plan their vacations in advance, while achieving a balance between the two sectors.
The move streamlines the granted number of holidays for each sector to a total of 14 days each per year. (This jumps from the 12 public holidays which were granted for the private sector in 2018).
