You Can Now Order A Regular Taxi Through The Careem Booking App
This evening Careem announced the news we’ve all been waiting to hear. To cater to the demand, the app-based transport company will offer customers the option to book RTA operated Dubai Taxis on the app. This basically means you’ll have all the benefits of the Careem app (accurate location services, contact with the driver, etc..) at the lower Dubai Taxi cost.
This allows Careem to serve all budgets
You’ll now see ‘taxi’ as a car type, this will denote the RTA taxis. You’ll be matched to the closest taxi in the area and once the booking is confirmed, customers will see the taxi number on screen so that they can easily identify their driver.
There’s only one small difference
Unlike if you use a Careem car, the service does not offer customers email or SMS receipts, instead they will need to ask their driver for a paper receipt at the end of the journey and fares will need to be settled in cash unless the driver has a credit machine available.
