RTA Says More Than 5 Million Passengers Used Public Transportation For This Year’s Eid Al- Adha

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) disclosed that approximately 5 million 454, 714 passengers used public transportation and taxis in Dubai in the Eid Al- Adha holidays. 

The RTA transported 5,454,714 passengers in total 

With most using the metro, reaching 1,829,356 passengers. Dubai Metro’s green line carried 651,854 passengers while Red line carried 1,177,502! 

According to RTA’s Director of Strategic Planning, Mohammed Al Ali, the Dubai Tram also lifted 74, 311 passengers, and more than a million passengers were picked up by public buses. Even marine transportations saw an increase of 240,954 passengers and a good 1.861,787 passengers used taxis.

The RTA has prepared a comprehensive traffic plan to optimise the use of vehicles during Eid Al Adha holiday, which witnesses heavy traffic especially in the area around Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Water Canal. We have borne in mind to achieve integration between different public transport means and traffic regulations to facilitate the movement of the public to and from these areas during this occasion
