Salman Khan Has Been Forced To Spend An Extra Day In Jail After His Bail Hearing Got Adjourned
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was handed a five-year jail term for a 20-year old blackbuck poaching incident at a court in Jodphur on Thursday.
The court, however, has adjourned his bail plea to Saturday, which means the actor is now spending one more night in the Jodhpur Central Jail.
He applied for bail after the lower court declared him guilty under wildlife protection laws.
According to Salman’s lawyer, Mahesh Bora, the conviction solely depends on an unreliable eyewitness.
“We argued for bail in the court. Basically the eyewitness is not reliable. The trial court has convicted Salman on the basis of basically just one eyewitness”, says he.
The actor has already spent one night in jail and has been kept alone in a cell with additional security.
