Saudi Has Suspended Diplomatic Ties With Canada Following Tweets From Canada’s Ministry For Foreign Affairs
Saudi Arabia has suspended diplomatic relations with Canada following a tweet by Global Affairs Canada about the arrest of several women campaigning in Saudi Arabia.
The Saudi Press Agency made a statement on the matter, which was shared to the UAE’s national news agency WAM.
The statement reads: “It is a major, unacceptable affront to the Kingdom’s laws and judicial process, as well as a violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty. Throughout its long history, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has never accepted any interference in its domestic affairs by, or orders from, any country.”

Saudi has recalled its ambassador in Canada and has given the Canadian ambassador to Saudi 24 hours to leave
Stating that it considers “the Canadian Ambassador to Saudi Arabia as Persona-Non-Grata.”
