The defendant drove his best friend to a desert area and abused him sexually at knifepoint.
He has been jailed for one year
According to Gulf News, the two had driven out to the desert and the defendant allegedly forced himself on his friend after he refused to have consensual sex with him.
Shortly after the defendant dropped his friend home, the victim reported the matter to the police.
The Dubai Court of First Instance convicted the defendant of sexually abuse and molestation.
He pleaded not guilty
The primary ruling remains subject to appeal before the Appeal Court.
